Being an phenomenal Receiver is a huge part the Power of Contribution. Matthew shared this quote from Star Wars The Clone Wars last friday, “Sometimes, accepting help is harder then offering it.” Hello! How right on is this?

Sometimes when we play The Power of Contribution Game at live events, the people who are the most kick ass Contributors are the ones who struggle to receive. So, Star Wars nailed it. It can be harder to give than to receive.

You ever experience this? Check it out. The number one best, most powerful key for having what you want show up: Clarity. Clarity of intention. Clarity of vision. Clarity of goal. This is essential. Without clarity (this is Step One of the game), there is literally no way that people can contribute to you! Better said, if you don’t know what you want how will you know when you get it?

In the past I’ve stood there at networking events feeling weird about what I should do.  I remember wondering how I was going to accomplish my goals in a room full of people who were also trying to accomplish their goals.  Every conversation felt like a chess match.  I remember thinking, “How do I push my dream forward while pretending to listen to other peoples goals.”

The Power of Contribution Solves The Problems With Networking

Now I simply play the game with everyone in the room. It is so refreshing and freeing to have a goal in mind and then forget about it. It’s such a relief to put my agenda aside, find out about everyone else’s goals and dreams and then simply contribute to them on the spot.

I committed to full out Contribution Game Play about 3 years ago and the results are spectacular. I’ve got hundreds of advocates out there in the world who I have selflessly contributed to. I’ve got people who literally hound me to figure out ways to contribute to me. What use to be a struggle to make happen, now happens effortlessly. What a relief.
